As a college student who only makes about $1,500 a month and lives with his parents, I really could... But probably shouldn't... Does anyone know how much a lease really is, once all the surcharges are tacked on?

Leasing is a good way to get a car if:
1. You're not planning to keep the car for very long.
2. It saves you a lot of money over buying the car outright.
Saving only $52/month on the lease vs. buying, is a pretty crappy lease deal.

Get the used sensible car, wait until you get a decent job after you graduate, and actually buy the car you really want. Trust me. It sucks while you're driving a car you aren't passionate about, but when you finally reward yourself for a job well done with one of your dream cars it feels amazing.

You made a Fiat didn't you? I did the exact thing but mine was just a 500 Sport with like 1,000 in options because I don't need have the shit in it. Just the Mopar interior lol.

About the same as buying a slightly used one. Wait, then you actually own something after. I wouldn't lease.

Yep. That's a ton for a small car. I have a friend with the same payment on a Lexus CT200H

All the things - leather, upgraded stereo, some stripes or something. I just checked most of the boxes that sounded good.

You also need to factor in full coverage insurance on this. My insurance is around $600 every 6 months and that is a '95 4Runner, liability only, and under my parents policy.

Hmm, good point. I haven't checked on insurance. They may just outright say they won't cover it.

You can probably buy a used one with little miles for the same monthly payment.

A non-existent credit score definitely won't work on a lease.

They'll cover just about anything for the right price. There are people my age (19) driving GTR's.

$100 a month is pretty normal for a 19 year old male with a 4WD.

bamahoon's right about figuring on a big insurance cost. I'll add you may want to consider registration as well. Some states have registration pegged to the value of the car, so a new one is really, really expensive to register. And a nice new one? If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Ok, I'm going to say this as nicely as possible because I do think the Abarth is kinda cool... WHAT THE FUCK WITH THAT PRICE TAG?!?! That little tiny sardine can costs 22k? Oh wait, they want another 6k on top of that... INSANO! AT 12k I would I would STILL be wondering if the car is worth it. Go get a Ford Focus or Mazda or something else that is actually worth that kind of money. Again I really like the Abarth, there's just no way its worth that money.
